🌸

A three-week studio experience for rising 5th–7th grade girls designed for young artists who are ready for deeper creative exploration.

This immersive art experience blends pottery, painting, drawing, hands-on crafts, and creative writing with mindfulness practices in a calm, welcoming studio environment—giving girls the time and space to develop their creative voice and connect with each other.

“This is the camp I wish I had as a preteen—creative, supportive, and full of room to explore and grow as an artist.” -Miss Sophia

Morning Mindfulness: A gentle start to the day with journaling, art invitation, reflection, light movement, or creative prompts.

Weekly Focused Art Practice: Dedicated studio time exploring the main medium of the week (including pottery, painting, drawing, and mixed media)

Creative writing, storytelling, and illustrating.

Crafternoons: Relaxed, hands-on crafts after lunch—playful creative time to end the day feeling accomplished and joyful.

Weekly Focus

Week 1: Clay & Creative Writing

Artists explore handbuilding pottery techniques while beginning creative writing inspired by storytelling, reflection, and imagination. This week focuses on experimentation, idea generation, and comfort with materials.

Week 2: Painting & Story Planning

Artists dive into mixed media painting, working on a large canvas from conception to creation. Alongside painting, artists begin thumbnail sketches and planning for their personal storybooks.

Week 3: Finishing & Reflection

Artists glaze their pottery pieces, refine sketching and drawing skills, and continue working on dummy book creation, bringing together artwork and writing into a cohesive final project and a final exhibit on July 30th.

Creative Girl Camp is a great fit if your child:

  •  Enjoys art, making, and creative expression
  • Is curious, thoughtful, or imaginative
  • Is ready for longer projects and deeper focus
  • Would benefit from a supportive, creative community

This camp may not be the best fit if your child:

  • Prefers fast-paced or highly physical camps
  • Is looking for a one-day or drop-in experience
  • Is outside the rising 5th–7th grade age range

We want this to be a positive, meaningful experience for every participant. Please reach out to Miss Sophia with any questions, hello@essemartstudio.com.
